I received a copy of this book at the MREA Energy Fair 2019. And it provides easy to understand (clear lay language) and easy to access (well indexed) information about a lot of the decisions that homeowners and other consumers make on a regular basis. The information is clear and well researched and goes a LONG way toward inviting consumers into the lingo associated with green building, and honestly, understanding the terms and why different products/strategies are important is a really useful thing.
If you are thinking about building or remodeling and want your choices to make a difference, this will be a really good place to start!.
But even if you're not building, there are lots of useful suggestions for making incremental changes in your life that will contribute positively to our environment and to your pocketbook. Lots of these green living choices are actually better for you and less expensive than the commercial options we are so addicted to. The last 1/3 of the book is dedicated to these kinds of ideas. Even to the extent that homemade cleaning product recipes are included. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
