This a great book that covers the basics of many styles of firearms. The cross rerefence index is most useful as many pistols use the same basic mechanics. The illustrations and descriptions are also good. It does not include exploded diagrams or parts lists.
This is a must have for revolver owners and anyone just curious about how semi-automatic pistols are assembled and disassembled. I have owned several of the pistols included and have always been curious about others I may never own or even handle. It included the most popular guns and some of the antique rare ones, like the famous German Luger P.08. The photos are all B&W, but they were done professionally. Also, this is a large book - the size of a sheet of typing paper (8 1/2 x 11) and it weighs a few pounds. Good value. If this review looks familiar, it is! I also bought the Revolver version.
